Hasan Hüseyin Kara devient le partenaire de l’atelier de son professeur après le lycée. Après une courte aventure entrepreneuriale, M. Kara mène sa carrière au ministère de la Santé. Après 14 ans de service civil, il crée Etkin Medical Devices. Hasan Hüseyin Kara ajoute à la maintenance technique et à la vente la première lampe chirurgicale à LED de 2012 en Turquie. Aujourd'hui, en tant que producteur indigenius, joue un rôle important dans ce domaine, M. Kara compte 4 jours pour 4 nouveaux produits. HASAN Hüseyin Kara... is an entrepreneur who invests each of his pennies in a job that he loves, as an indigenous local producer, where the strangers are dominated, by the belief in innovation and R&D. Hasan Hüseyin Kara, the founder of Etkin Medical Devices, one of those who proved that success was no coincidence, explained both the story of entrepreneurship and the future plans that the principles prevail. In 1964 Hasan Hüseyin Kara was born in Gaziantep, grown in crowded family. Hasan Huseyin Kara is telling that his father has a sweet shop in Gaziantep, tells the continuation of his story like:

MOVED TO IZMIR & FATE CHANGED
“My father went to Belgium to work later, but it took 1 year. We moved to Izmir in 1996. That is how our fate started to change. We moved to a shantyhouse in Karabağlar. My father was a grengrocer. I had a responsibility over me because I was the number 2 of 7 brothers. As I started primary school, I found myself in working life. I worked in bodyworker, polisher. When it was necessary I worked in construction, when it was necessary, I contributed to the family economy by breaking tobacco. Then I started to read electronic in Atatürk Industrial Business High School. In this period, for reading electronics, I worked in repair, maintenance. I worked next to the fridge repairer.”

THE DAY CIVIL SERVICE, NIGHT ANTENNA INSTALLATION
Hasan Hüseyin Kara becomes a partner to the shop which was setting to work and maintenance-repaired by his teacher. This partnership lasts for two years. Kara, “At that time the Ministry of Health was looking at electronic technician. I was informed for the last day of this application. I applied in the sense that this is a guarantee business. I passed and my career started in the Ministry of Health. Of course, I did not stop. After my shift I installed antenna on the roof, I repaired fridge, TV, radio. I worked till midnigts. Things I’ve done started to come too small to me. Before me, three people left their jobs and set up their own companies, but did not succeed. I also wanted to try. I quit my job to contribute to my country more.” thus sharing, he started the establishment process of Etkin Etkin Medical Devices

WHEN HE SAW THE PRICE HE MADE A DECISION TO PRODUCE
Hasan Hüseyin Kara, who works in repairing, maintenance and repair of the devices in hospitals in the first stage in a two bedroom apartment house, he continued as follows : “We are the first company to make maintenance and repair contracts in the territory. At that time we had two partners and a secretary. This partnership lasted for two years. After a while I added the sale of products to maintenance and repair. We started getting various distributorships. We brought an operation lamp for a state hospital from abroad. When we saw the prices of the products in that process, we were in shock. I thought this should not be done for these figures. The idea that we should produce this product appeared. I thought that Turkish engineers could be capable of doing this. We wrote a project for TUBITAK for this. Our project was approved and we started production of LED illuminated surgical lamp in 2012. This was the first in Turkey. Today we are an important actor in this field.”

LOCAL TOUCH

Hasan Hüseyin Kara is also speaking related to the initiative for the localization initiated in the HEALTH sector, “This is a 3-4 years history. Domestic product condition is said to be applied in purchases of 10 million Turkish Liras. The law also came out for this. But it is not applied currently. There is serious work. In the near future, it brings serious dynamism to this sector. At that time, there is no domestic company like us in medical device field. We produce everything, from design to software by ourselves. Sure, we're outsourced in some materials. 80 percent of the products we produce now are local. But except us, the others bring the products outside and doing the assembly in Turkey.” that he said.

NOW TIME TO EUROPE

“We know what to do in FIVE years” sayer Hasan Hüseyin Kara said there were products consisting of surgical examination lamps and camera systems as well as LED illuminated operation lamps. Kara, “We are mainly doing public business. We can also produce solutions according to the wishes of institutions. We have close to 800 production per year. We have export as well as domestic market. We have 8 exports to different territories in Middle East, Far East” says and shared that Europe is among the future plans.

LEAD-FREE GOWNS

“We aim to be a biomedical technology company operating at INTERNATIONAL level” says Hasan Hüseyin Kara, saying we are working to produce technology for this target, “We have finished projects now. One of these is the lead-free gowns used in the field of radiology. This is also TÜBİTAK project. There are 3 more like this. European Union is going to be forbids lead in radiology. There are examples in the world, but ours are different. It will be patented product. We can’t produce in our current facility. We have an another field at İzmir Atatürk Organizez Industrial Zone. There is a lawsuit on this matter. 18 investors like us are the victims. With the conclusion of the case, we will invest in a factory here. It will be a gren building” he transmitted his future plans by saying.

CONSTITUTION IS ON IT’S ROAD

Seventy-five percent of ETKİN Tıbbi Cihazlar belongs to Hasan Hüseyin Kara. Kara, “We have one partner. Sadettin Erer. My daughter works with us from my second generation. Currently we are in the process of institutionalization with the support of universities. We will form a company constitution with this completion. In the future, it should be done in the scope of production plan to world biggest companies.” used these words.

ENGINEERS AT THE WORK

TODAY, one of the biggest actors in the development of Etkin Etkin Medical Devices are employees. Hasan Hüseyin Kara, who said that they are working to carry the company to the future with a staff of 55 people, says that the one thing they created the differenes in this area is the engineer staff. Kara continued to say: “18 of 55 people are engineers. Most part of these engineers are biomedical engineer. My daughter is one of them. We always support graduate, doctorate, international and domestic biomedical trainings.”
